Kim Kardashian

Name: Kimberly Noel Kardashian

Nickname: Kim Kardashian

The public does not know much about Kim Kardashian. Wait….yes we do. Because a good portion of it is public. Either through a reality TV show, or the people who she dates, or even wilder…a sex tape. Everything she does is very public. This is a rather easy diagnosis to make.

Narcissistic Personality Disorder:

In this disorder, a person is excessively preoccupied with personal adequacy, power, prestige and vanity. The word Narcissism is meant to describe excessive vanity and self centerdness that originates from the Greek mythological character of Narcissus. He became infatuated with his own reflection in a lake.

This probably is one of the most popular yet dangerous disorders a celebrity can attain. At the growth spurt of stardom, this disorder goes into full gear, and thrives to maintain a level of popularity that is disproportionate to the changing work environment as the stardom dies down.

Hence she finds herself induced into roles that no one should be in: ie: marriages that last less than 3 months. playboy spreads, out of wedlock kids with other narcissistic celebrities, various reality TV shows of her in different cities etc.

The best way to treat this disorder is by a plan of weaning oneself out of the spotlight, with the goal to leave and find one’s true self. Unfortunately, it seems like this is one thing she will never do, but that society itself, just like most other celebrities who are way past their half lives, force themselves to do.

  1. This is quite an interesting one. On the one hand, the reality show and the need to be in the public is definitely what helps keep her “famous” but then on the other she wants/tries to portray the girl who doesn’t really want all this attention.

I don’t really watch the show but sometimes I catch it while flipping channels. To me, that show or the characters in it, doesn’t really add much value nor does it give any motivation or inspiration. I think lots of these “reality” shows just make people believe that if you are seen as pretty, have a hot body, dumb yourself down slightly or a lot, you can make it big with a “reality” show. There is no aspiration to be anything else. It’s quite sad!

    1. I very much agree. When the show 1st started I watched through season 3 or about the time the other Kardashian spinoff shows also started, then I got Kardashian overdose and moved on. It horrifies me how much IS in the spotlight in their lives and they are okay with it. It may sell, but also makes them look so plastic. I feel sorry for them, its obvious they aren’t well in the head.
